Since 1933, when Ben and Dorothy Haggen and Doug Clark opened their first grocery store on Bay Street in Bellingham, Haggen has been synonymous with quality, service and innovation. Still family owned and based in Bellingham, Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores rely on 100's of Northwest growers and producers – including more than 30 from Whatcom County – to provide fresh, quality products every day. Haggen stores have implemented numerous practices that reduce the company’s energy consumption while encouraging recycling internally and among its customers. Also, Haggen stores support many local and regional nonprofit organizations.
